Container lifecycle: New, In Progress, Completed

What each container status means and how it's calculated from its legs.

A container's overall status is calculated automatically from the status of its individual legs — you won't set it manually.

How the status is derived

If every expected leg is completed, the container is Completed. If at least one leg has started, it's In Progress. Otherwise, it's New.

Container status vs. booking status

This is different from the booking's overall status, which rolls up across every container in that booking. A booking can be In Progress even if some of its containers are already Completed.
